What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientifically proven teaching methodology used to develop data-based individualized programming for children and adults.
ABA utilizes the components of assessment, identification of objectives, systematic instruction and data analysis in order to teach individuals functional skills. ABA methodology can provide instruction in a variety of areas including behavior, life skills, self-help skills, social skills academics, leisure activities, and communication.
Experience and research have shown that ABA strategies are effective in promoting the development of new skills. ABA instruction includes the techniques of discrete trial training for novel skill acquisition, as well as the use of incidental teaching procedures to promote maintenance and generalization of learned skills into the natural environment.
